The activity of the Centre for Research and Curriculum Development is to control and improve the quality of training as a whole. Besides, it is also entasked to conduct research into new areas that can be channel through the process of training and subsequently be implemented as new training programs. For purposes of evaluating the effectiveness of the various training programs conducted, feedbacks will also be reviewed and analysed to ascertain the possible weaknesses of training programs or other external factors. Weaknesses that are beyond the scope of the training institution will be directed to the top management for a policy review, if the need arises.

This centre is divided into 4 units with its scope of work and responsibilities as follows:-

Material Research & Curriculum Development Unit

    1. Supervise & implement research and development works aiming to improvise lecture notes, teaching techniques for all centres;
    2. Study and endorse all syllabuses and course programs;
    3. Identify current and future training needs in line with the organisational and governmental policy;
    4. Managing the library facilities;
    5. Preparation of seminar reports.

Performance Evaluation & Examination Unit

    1. To prepare and implement research & development to improvise and update lecture notes, teaching and training techniques to all centres;
    2. Prepare records for courses and participants as well as results of analysis and examination;
    3. Responsible to prepare case study reports for all centres with highlights on current and future problems identified in line with the organisational and governmental policy;
    4. To study all examination papers prepared by all centres, to prepare examination questions and to advocate proposals to the commandant accordingly;
    5. Responsibility to review all case studies prepared by course participants and to suggest necessary changes for purpose of implementation at federal, state, formation and district levels.

Information Technology Unit

    1. To carry out user training on Information Technology to course participants;
    2. To study Information Technology training needs from time to time;
    3. Responsibility on all hardware and software used;
    4. Develop applications needed for usage of the college.

Technical Support Unit

    1. To render technical support to all training activities;
    2. To prepare rules and regulations for usage of technical support equipments;
    3. Identify technical support needs from time to time.
